This single paper sheeter machine features a fixed bottom knife and rotating upper knife, also known as a single-drum sheeter. The double-drum sheeter with synchronized upper and lower knives is referred to as a double rotary sheeter.
The single sheeter operates on the flying shear slitting principle. During paper transportation, the bottom knife remains stationary while the upper knife head rotates continuously—regardless of whether paper is feeding or not. This allows the slitting length to be precisely controlled within ±0.5 mm.
Longer sheets run at a relatively lower speed, and the pulling action during cutting may create a slight bevel, commonly known as “paper hair.” However, for paper ranging from 150–300 gsm, the single-drum sheeter delivers excellent results and is widely used by many factories for direct feeding into printing presses.
